Maintenance Mechanic - Direct Hire in Livingston County, NY
The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain and repair equipment for a successful food processing company. This is a direct hire position with all the bells and whistles (see benefits below)! Wage is $23-$27/hour, potentially more for extremely skilled candidates. In addition, there is the potential to make $80-$100k with overtime.
JUNE-OCT (Peak Season): 6AM-6PM AND/OR 6PM to 6AM, LOTS of overtime required, Double time for Sundays. During peak season mechanics may be required to work 1/2 the season on Days and 1/2 on Nights. They also need to be prepared to work any and all days of the week.
OCT-MAY (Off Peak): 6:30AM-4:30PM, Mon-Thurs OR 6:30AM-2:30PM, Mon-Fri. No overtime during Off Peak.
Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals
Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run
Inspect, repair and maintain machinery, and equipment throughout the facility
Trouble shoot, repair, and replace machinery as required
Read sketches and blueprints to determine layout of assigned work
Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required
Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed
Monitor equipment operation making any necessary adjustments
Ensure that GMP’s (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced
At least 1 – 3 years mechanical experience in manufacturing and/or food processing
Strong maintenance/mechanical skills
MIG, TIG, Mill, Lathe, Fabricating experience very helpful
Must have good attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
Ability to work with all levels of the organization
Ability to work long hours during production season
Proficiency with computers
Experience with X-Ray Lasers helpful
