Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment. Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals. Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect, repair and maintain machinery and equipment throughout the facility; trouble shoot, repair, and replace machinery as required

Overhaul and PM equipment and maintain Inkjet coders withtraining

Maintain seamers to operate within can manufacturer's specifications to facilitate good seams on cans and maintain all fillers that relates to good fill specs as prescribed by QA

Read sketches and blueprints to determine layout of assigned work

Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required

Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed

Monitor equipment operation making any necessary adjustments

Ensure that GMP's (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed

Maintain all other equipment not listed above from infeed can track to infeed can track to cooker

Know, Understand and Use lock out/tag out procedures working within all of plant safety programs

Responsible for lubrication of equipment in fill/close area

Ability to work with outside vendors/contractors when necessary

Work in other areas of plant when directed by immediate supervisor or by supervisor in charge

Ability to work nights during production periods or otherwise directed by supervisor; ability to work overtime during busy season or when directed by supervisor

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have good attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to read, write and maintain daily logbook as well as a seamer logbook and the be able toread and understand operator and maintenance manuals

Strong maintenance skills, with the ability toweld - stick, mig & tig; posse basic hand tool ability including plasma cutter, acet/oxy torch

Ability to read, use and understand micrometers, calipers, force cell gauge

Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment

Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally and work with all levels of the organization
