There is a new role via OfficeTeam seeking Jericho, New York candidates to be a Mailroom Assistant. This role is also concerned with managing and maintaining physical and digital mail-sorting systems. Receiving and sorting mail and packages in a centralized room before distributing the items to appropriate departments and individuals is another part of this thriving company's Mailroom Assistant role. Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate employees complete diverse projects as necessary

  • Register, pack, and/or distribute mail and packages

  • Accept and sort all incoming mail and packages from various carriers

  • Ward off assembly errors by maintaining an organized work station

  • Salvage data within allotted time frames

  • Within specified guidelines, obtain high volume of letters, memoranda, invoices, and other indexed documents

  • Conserve optimal machine performance by troubleshooting simple problems (clearing jams, refilling toner, replacing machine oil, etc.)

  • Put mail processing equipment to use

  • Take care of clerical tasks like word processing, filing, scanning, archiving, and faxing

    Requirements - Well trained in mail processing at organizational level

  • Exceptional time management skills preferred

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

    • Execute general clerical operations tasks that are routine and/or repetitive in nature

    • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Skilled in handling office equipment

  • Deep understanding of Packaging Components

  • Solid understanding of Mail Packages

  • Practical knowledge of Deposit Slips

  • Well-founded grasp of numeric data entry

  • Overnight Packages experience preferred

  • Quality experience with Inventory Tracking

  • Wide ranging experience with Basic Computer Skills

  • Packaging Materials experience

  • General familiarity with Computer Data Entry

  • Proven knowledge of data entry

  • Foundational knowledge in Packaging Equipment

    • If you are flexible and focused, you can succeed in this position
  • 1+ years of prior experience working in a high-volume mailroom setting
