Job Summary
The art assistant supports the art, photo, and production of two quarterly titles: Rachael Ray In Season and Drew + Jonathan Reveal.

Essential Job Functions
50%
Design pages, attach and style text, and route layout files
Provide art direction for photo shoots and commissioning illustrations
Design and prepare assets for social media and issue teaser

25%
Assist the production department by sending images to prepress, shipping pages, and tracking and ordering hi-res images, archiving issues, and routing text and files

25%
Handle art department contracts and invoices (both photo and illustration)
Maintain issue wall, art assignments list, issue color themes, and layout page templates
Assist Creative Director as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Art or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience

Experience:
Internship or prior design experience at a print magazine

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong sense of design, type, and photography
Problem-solving, interactive approach to design
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work well in a deadline-driven, collaborative environment
Strong attention to detail
Strong interest in food and lifestyle content
Adobe Creative Suite
Web/Interactive Design experience
