Digital Drinks Editor, Food & Wine
Food & Wine is looking for a digitally savvy Digital Drinks Editor with a passion for cocktails, spirits, bars, wine, coffee, tea, N/A cocktails, and beer. This person should be able to identify the sommeliers, bartenders, and other drink experts leading in their respective fields and be ready to identify and report on the most relevant trends. The ideal candidate has exceptional researching, writing, and organizational skills-and an excellent grasp of the Food & Wine sensibility. Based in New York City, this person will work with the Associate Digital Directors to evaluate our existing beverage coverage and identify how to grow it with recipe development, feature stores, interviews and social media takeovers with key industry experts, holiday and seasonal SEO-driven content.

Essential Job Functions
Pitching-and fielding pitches-for smart, timely ideas for our website.
Reporting on the world of drink from cocktails to coffee and bar culture and identifying important trends and tastemakers.
Engaging in research and outreach to drink experts and PR to collect intel on news, openings, and trends to seed digital stories.
Pitching and writing features as assigned; editing print features as assigned.
Pitching and writing stories for the website- specifically smart, product-forward e-commerce pieces.
Identifying drink recipes needed to broaden our recipe offerings, and working with recipe developers and our food studios to produce them
Making updates to existing content and supporting our efforts to make our content best in class
Representing Food & Wine at industry events and connecting with chefs and PR representatives on behalf of the brand.

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, communications or related field
4-6 years of editorial experience in digital publishing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, flexible team player with a sense of humor and entrepreneurial energy, able to roll with the punches and take ownership in a fluid and fast-moving environment
Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to interact responsibly and professionally with coworkers, contributors, readers, and experts
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign/InCopy is required; working knowledge of digital content management systems a plus
Operating experience with web analytics tools and experience using data and revenue goals to inform and develop digital strategies
Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs; prior experience editing recipes a major plus
Work experience in bars or restaurants a plus
