Arc Herkimer is looking for Wait Staff for the MV Golf and Event Center. The Golf Course Wait Staff assists in daily restaurant operations and the food & beverage service associated with organized golf outings and special events, such as banquets, weddings and meetings. The position works in close coordination with the Lead Bartender/Wait Staff on all daily restaurant activities and special events. The position reports to the Lead Bartender/Wait Staff. Wait Staff sets dining areas, serves beverages and food to club members and guests. This position is part time, seasonal.

Job duties (including but not limited to):

  • Maintain good personal appearance and observe personal cleanliness at all times.

  • Ensure that all patrons are greeted in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Always wear appropriate uniform according to policy.

  • Assists in maintaining responsibility for dining area cleanliness and organization.

  • Maintain proper food handling per all health codes.

  • Ensure all newly seated patrons receive immediate attention and that their orders are taken promptly and courteously. Ensure that patrons are not ignored at any time during their dining experience.

  • Advise supervisor of any complaints so they can be rectified immediately.

  • Participate in the continuous cleaning and upkeep of the food and beverage facilities.

  • Serve only food and beverage items that meet strict specifications and standards.

  • Must be able to balance cash and credit card charges.

  • Present a professional demeanor at all times.

  • Serves meals and beverages to members and guests according to standard operating procedures.

  • Provides excellent guest service to all members, guests and staff

  • Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.

  • Maintains a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.

  • Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Reports to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to be in position.

  • Does side work during non-busy hours.

  • Speaks to guests with enthusiasm at all times.

  • Develops relationships with guests.

  • Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.

  • Clears and resets tables/work areas at conclusion of each course or end of shift.

  • Preparing the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks

  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor

  • Assisting with special events as necessary

  • Ability to help in others areas of the department as directed by supervisor

  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes

  • Other duties as assigned

Position requirements:

  • One year minimum of food service experience preferred.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
