Jewish Community Center Camp Program Supervisor in Little Neck, New York

Principal Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Camp Program Supervisor is responsible for all day-to-day camp supervision and management of Summer of Arts and Sports of our on-site local camp. The position includes, but is not limited to, general supervision of staff and overseeing implementation of camp activities. Our Program Supervisor will be directly responsible in maintaining the daily operations of the camp day. Job type: Seasonal summer position Hours: In person: June 28-August 20, 2021 40+ hour work week Monday through Friday Availability April-June for pre-camp meetings, orientations and trainings # Minimum Qualifications: Responsibilities during camp * Direct supervision of counselors and assigned specialty staff, which includes staff scheduling, on-going staff training, guidance, support, accountability and safety. * Coordinate scheduling, logistics and implementation of all daily camp programs and events. * Understand and implement the camp and DOH safety policies * Work collaboratively with the camp team to create special events and camp wide activities * Respond promptly to unanticipated, changes to planned activities and program * Implement writing of staff evaluations, mid-season and end season * Ability to lead and implement camp wide activities * Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid for Professional Rescuer * Perform other duties and/or tasks assigned by Camp Director Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 3 seasons of camp leadership experience. * Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead young adults to reach their full potential. * Ability to lead and manage programs. * Energetic and positive personality is necessary. * Experience teaching or coaching elementary age school sports a plus. # Salary: Under 25,000 # Agency Information: Commonpoint Queens is a non-profit, multi service agency with a flagship site in Forest Hills and 33 additional sites throughout the community that provides a diverse array of programs and services to over 35,000.
