Elderwood at Liverpool is searching for a energetic, ambitious & compassionate part time Dietary Aide to join our very busy 160-bed Skilled Nursing facility in Liverpool, NY. We are wrapping up facility renovations to update our facility including investing in new state of the art equipment for our Dietary staff! It is time to love your job!
This is an entry-level position and an amazing part time opportunity for students, recently retired, returning to workforce, and people seeking additional income. The hours for the position is typically 5:00 PM - 8:15 PM or 5:15 PM - 8:30 PM and includes weekends. This position is entry level but salary increases with verifiable experience.

What our Dietary Aides Do:
Our Dietary Aide team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of residents by providing dietary support by: promptly preparing and serving meals, dish washing, making nourishments, stocking unit kitchenettes, working tray line, cleaning and setting tables and preparing beverages for serving.
Other duties include:
Remain aware of menu for day and diet needs of residents seated at assigned tables.
Serve meals to residents in Dining Rooms, making certain that resident receives foods to meet diet requirements, and that residents have everything in place for eating a meal.
Clear, clean and set tables for next meal.
Clear food and cleans serving area.
Prepare/pour beverages prior to meals.
Prepare cold foods for service prior to meals.
Assemble food for nourishments and deliver to nursing stations or unit kitchenettes.
Perform cleaning duties in kitchen and/or serving areas as scheduled and directed.
Assist in care and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
What it Takes to Be a Dietary Aide:
Minimum of 16 years of age required; HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Employment Certificate/Permit required (if applicable).
Previous experience in dietary work preferred.
High degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene required; health status suitable for service of food required.
Sense of responsibility, and ability to work well with residents and other staff members required.
Ability to verbally communicate well with residents, families, and staff members.
Ability to read and understand task assignments, ability to report verbally and provide written documentation as required.
Display of genuine concern for the elderly; a dependable, patient and compassionate attitude toward residents. Display a demeanor which is always respectful of residents' rights and wishes.
Ability to cooperate and maintain respectful treatment of others. Display a sense of responsibility, maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members.
Elderwood at Liverpool is a 160 bed skilled nursing facility (SNF) in a quiet suburban neighborhood just 10 minutes from Syracuse. We offer comprehensive, personalized orthopedic, cardiac, and post-surgical rehab programs, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Services and programs include: Oncology, Wound Care, Palliative Care and Seasons Memory Care Program.
