What You'll Do:

- Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks

- Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes

- Work on the early design of Electrical Power Systems for Ground Based Radar Systems alongside with Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SME) and across various programs to determine power needs and to design power circuits and subsystems to meet such needs

- Conduct trade studies, perform dynamic analyses, interface with vendors, test power and analog circuitry and interact with engineers of other disciplines (Mechanical, Systems, etc.)

- Support failure analysis, Material Review Board processing, discrepancy documentation, resolution and troubleshooting

The Locale:

Liverpool is a village just outside of Syracuse, NY on Onondaga Lake in what is called the Central New York region. Syracuse is the major hub in the region, and has everything you would expect from a small city with a strong college influence. New York City and Philadelphia, PA are each about a 4 hour ride away, Rochester is just over an hour and ¼ to the west, and The Finger Lakes region with its beautiful scenery and wineries are just off to the west. Beautiful Lake Ontario and hundreds of other lakes are nearby and the Adirondack Mountains are just two hours to the northeast. Major colleges and universities in the region include Hamilton College, Cornell University, Le Moyne College, SUNY Oswego, Colgate University, SUNY Cortland, Utica College, Ithaca College, Syracuse University, the SUNY ESF and SUNY IT.

Basic Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Analog Circuits, design and analysis

- Knowledge of Power Systems design including Linear and Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS)

- Experience with Lab Equipment - O-Scopes, DVMs, etc.

- Knowledge of PCB design

- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written/verbal skills

- Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment

- Demonstrated ability to act independently

- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills

- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance, therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

* PSPICE and/or LTSPICE tool Experience

* Power System Simulation and Modeling Experience -PSIM

* AC/DC and DC/DC Converter Design Experience

* Familiar with EMC and Electrical Safety Standards

* 2.5 GPA or higher preferred, but not required (Cumulative or Major GPA)
