Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracue Inc Merchandise selection SORTER (Full Time) in Liverpool, New York

The Rescue Mission is currently seeking full time sorter II for our warehouse in Liverpool. This position is responsible for sorting donated merchandise to find those great values that we are able to sell at our Thrifty Shopper stores. We need candidates that are able to work independently with good judgment.

The successful candidate will be sorting merchandise while determining suitability for resale in our Thrifty Shopper stores.

  • Sorting hard-good donations into sell-able bric-a-brac, metal salvage, toy salvage, book salvage, rigid plastics, jewelry, shoes/handbags, trash, etc.

  • Sorting clothing donations by sell-able vs bale, in season vs off season and clothing categories of men, women and children tops and bottoms, as well as sorting bin items (ties, scarves, hats, gloves, accessories) and linens.

  • Assists with sorter I functions as necessary.

  • Assists with quality control and final preparation of store orders as needed.

  • Assists order set up, completing store order forms and printing tickets.

  • Consistently meets set quotas for department while maintaining quality standards.

  • Promotes a safety first attitude by setting a positive example and ensuring all employees are following safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a team environment by being a team player and treating everyone with respect.

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the job

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
