Youth Mentoring Services of Niagara County, Inc. Program Sepcialist in Lockport, New York
Lockport. Youth Mentoring Services of Niagara County. Program Specialist. $19 - $21/hour.
Scope of Work: The Program Specialist will work with the Program Coordinator and other key staff to present curriculum at the site based locations.
Essential Duties:
Hands on Teaching (60%): * Serve as lead mentor in school day program, LINKS * Serve as a lead mentor at various after-school locations from October- June * Serve as on-site Supervisor during summer program * Teach children interactive social and emotional skills
Program Development/ Improvement (20%): * Revise and update curriculum as needed * Use current curriculum to plan for out of school programming * Train other employees, interns, and volunteers how to successfully mentor small groups of children * Keep meticulous records of improvement, attendance, growth, and areas of need * Recruit participants for various camperships
Administration Work (10%): * Assist in daily office work such as generating reports, marketing programs and events etc. * Assist in writing grants for funding when necessary * Other duties as needed, assigned by the CEO
Community Outreach (10%): * Collaborate with other employees to put on events such as Backpack , Santa Sac, and charity golf tournament * Serve as brand ambassador at local non-profit meetings * Maintain connections to our community agency partners * Represent the program to Board of Directors as requested
