The position reports to the VP, Global Financial Controls, Systems, and Integration. The Exec Director role drives enablement of Global Finance strategies empowered by technology. This position plays a critical role in advising the Global Finance leadership that support ELC's long term growth opportunities. The role is key in providing project governance and risk management expertise/partnership to various stakeholders at the global, regional, brand, and functional levels, notably IT. The Exec Director will ensure that the initiatives under position’s area of responsibility are successfully executed, agile, and responsive to change.

This position is based in New York.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Finance Tech Portfolio Management

  • Acts as the primary point of contact and business partner to IT and Finance Executive leadership and delivers value by shaping and informing the Finance Tech portfolio to align with business strategy, defining capabilities required to achieve the strategy and bringing forth recommended technology solutions to enable these capabilities.

  • Accountable for the co-development and management of the Finance Technology portfolio in partnership with IT for regular portfolio planning, progress updates, and communicating back to relevant Finance Leadership teams. Driving the development of business cases and representing the Finance function in IT Alignment sessions.

  • Leads a global team that is accountable for providing key business inputs for technology solutioning for the Finance function and is accountable for innovative, strategic business solutions. These solutions are consistent with Corporate strategic objectives and ensure that the functions can support the needs of ELC’s growing business.

  • Works collaboratively across the Finance and IT organizations to ensure all technology services needs are identified in a timely way and communicated, planned, and budgeted effectively, including cost center management.

  • Ensure the realization of the business strategies through technology and continued process improvements. Align tightly with the BIA organization and collaborate to ensure excellent information flow and availability to enable the best data driven, functionally connected enterprise.

  • Responsible for enabling consistent, robust business requirements collection and assessment for Finance portfolio projects to ensure new services and solutions align with roadmaps.

  • Sets goals and expectations with key Finance stakeholders for tech projects to balance enterprise efficiencies with project-level execution.

  • Drives an Agile mindset and delivery culture throughout the business functions, advocating speed and agility and act as a change agent within the functions for Agile adoption.

Technology Initiatives - Financial Risk Management

  • Drive a robust risk management strategy for all technology projects with impact to financial reporting, across all functions, channels, regions, and/or brands, including developing clear accountability for financial risks and controls, monitoring of risk management strategy execution, and reporting on results to provide ELC Finance Leadership with assurance upon completion.

  • Partnering with key IT and business leadership and stakeholders to develop and integrate KRIs/KPIs into transformation initiatives, both at project and steady state, to develop reasonable risk tolerances and consistent, actionable insights.

Technical Skills

  • Experience and demonstrated success driving the business objectives for large, global transformation programs enabled by the Finance technology landscape. Experience driving global process reengineering in core Finance process areas, such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash (retail, wholesale, social, e-commerce), and Supply Chain Finance (B2B, 3PP).

  • Competent in new technology evaluation, ability to support technical change management, and provide thought leadership skills in driving business process workstreams to deliver on expected outcomes.

  • Strong working knowledge of IT General Controls and System Development Lifecycle risks and controls, integrating requirements proactively into transformation projects.

  • Experience with design and delivery methodologies including Design Thinking, Agile/SAFe, and Waterfall

Business Skills

  • Intense focus on business outcomes, demonstrating the ability to have material impact on core business measures: employee productivity, process optimization and automation, regulatory compliance, etc

  • Continuously curiosity and learning. Keeps abreast of best-in-class Finance practices and is familiar with the competitive practices and technologies in consumer goods/beauty industry as well as adjacent industries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education level: University degree, Business Management, Finance, or Information Systems

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 12

  • % Travel Time: 10%

  • Required Language Proficiency: Fluent English

  • Licenses or Certifications: MBA/CPA/CISA a plus

  • Relevant experience in the following areas: financial and IT risk management/controls, information systems, shared service centers/centers of excellence.
