RWS Entertainment Group Manager, Legal and Business Affairs in Long Island City, New York

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, VP Legal and Business Affairs US and UK the Manager, Legal and Business Affairs  will undertake a variety of legal administrative duties, heavily weighted on contract administration.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist General Counsel in developing and implementing a companywide tracking system for contract submission and follow up that provides the most accurate and up-to-date information for company stakeholders.

  • General contract and document coordination including but not limited to Seasonal Staffing Agreements, NDA’s, releases, COI’s and Invoice Requests.

  • Coordinate templating of scopes of work and low to medium complexity contracts.

  • Responsible for contract redline & drafting of low complexity contracts and letter agreements.

  • Drive tasks to execution by partnering with all applicable departments to resolve issues swiftly.

  • Closely monitor contract turnaround times and develop/implement improvement initiatives with General Counsel as needed.

  • Continually suggest and seek innovative and efficient ways to work. 

  • Demonstrate competency in executing responsibilities.

  • Help oversee the company’s contract management system and improve internal legal processes.

  • Review and proof a wide range of commercial agreements and assist in formatting the company’s standard forms.

  • Administrative support including but not limited to calendaring, letter drafting, document proofing, preparing DOS and governmental applications/filings.

  • Collaborate with other RWS department coordinators.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA required and/or minimum 5 years of contract management experience. 

  • LLM or JD preferred but not required.

  • Entertainment experience not required but welcomed.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Takes initiative and not afraid to look for answers.

  • Ability to maintain effectiveness under changing circumstances and priorities. 

  • Must be able to expand knowledge and adapt to an increasingly complex environment. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills are required. 

  • Sound knowledge of various computer software and ability to learn new ones. 

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint) and SharePoint daily.

  • Good time-management skills.

  • Positive and personable attitude.

  • Can work independently and meet deadlines without followup.

  • Organizational skills and strong follow through are a must.

  • Experience doing legal research is a plus.

  • Reliable and personable individual who enjoys working with a range of individuals.

A valid passport for the duration of employment for all travel-related roles. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (or proof of exemption) will be required.

Salary:  70K-80K annual exempt salary
