HistoWiz Operations - Process Automation Specialist in Long Island City, New York

HistoWiz is the largest online histopathology company based in New York City. The Role

The Process Automation Specialist will be a core part of the operations and strategy team with a focus on improving our business operations by QA testing our existing system and developing and designing new software systems that can improve our process. They will be a partner to every department across operations, sales, and products at the company by reporting company-wide metrics to enable high-quality data-driven solutions. The process automation specialist will apply their extensive, applied experience to solve real-world problems and improve efficiencies across all functional business units.

Essential Job Functions

  • Find opportunities for automation within our current process and offer ideas for expansion

  • Generate and review data to measure the effectiveness of existing processes and areas for improvement

  • Designing reports being delivered to key decision-makers that will analyze business functions

  • Building a culture around understanding and employing data to make critical business decisions

  • Performing analyses with complex datasets to ensure the leadership team understands the risks and benefits of different approaches

  • Developing a process to manage the data/report requests, including tracking, prioritization, and approval

  • Communicating results and business impacts of initiatives of key initiatives to business leaders

  • Identifying operational inefficiencies, process breakdowns, and patterns that can be solved through data approaches

  • Providing general office support as needed for day-to-day operations

  • Developing job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, independent research, and maintaining personal networks

Requirements

  • BA or BS in scientific, data-analytics, business operations, or engineering-related field

  • Highly fluent in intelligence tools such as Excel and SQL

  • Excellent computer and technology proficiency

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with an ability to translate data challenges into actionable plans for cross-functional teams

  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical, moving between big picture planning and day-to-day execution

  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust to quickly-changing priorities

  • Experience working in a startup and/or biotechnology company preferred
