HistoWiz Temp to Perm Sample Management and Shipping Associate in Long Island City, New York

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous individual for the role of Sample Management and Shipping Associate. This is an excellent opportunity for a high school or college graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in biotechnology.

Requirements

  1. Facilitate the archival of biological samples into our software-driven storage solution.

  2. Conduct thorough audit and organization of samples, ensuring accurate counts and precise labeling. This includes recognizing sample characteristics (species, organ type, tissue, etc.) and matching this to the information stored in our sample management system.

  3. Learn and utilize a software-driven storage system and laboratory information system to manage specimen inventory.

  4. Provides support for the start-up, development, and maintenance of new operations processes across multiple departments within the Company.

  5. Conduct day-to-day logistics operations as well as speficic projects over strategic changes in processes to improve workflow and increase the overall work efficiency of the shipping and logistics team.

Qualifications

  • Recent High School or College Graduate ideal

  • Interest in biotechnology, histology, biology research, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Basic computer skills, particularly data entry and use of archival software.
