Siena College is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach a summer 2024 graduate course, EDUC 516 Curriculum and Methods of Teaching Technology. See course description and meeting times below.

EDUC 516: Curriculum and Methods of Teaching Technology. The primary objective of this class is to prepare students to teach technology in grades K-12. The goal of the summer methods course serves to discover the answer to the following question: As teachers, how can we produce dynamic units, lessons, activities, and assessments for our diverse twenty-first-century learners that show them what it means to think as they engage in our discipline? This course will develop the skills necessary to create effective, meaningful curriculum that elicits student curiosity, deepens understanding of disciplinary concepts and literacy, and engages adolescents in learning. The course goal is to help novice teachers work towards proficiency in lesson design, instructional delivery, and assessment that meets the needs of all learners. EDUC 516 is set to meet from July 8 to August 16, 2024 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Classes are in person.

Salary $1,287.50 per contact hour

The hiring salary above represent the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.

Job Requirements:

Candidates should have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Education or related field and exhibit a commitment to undergraduate and graduate liberal arts education. Demonstrated knowledge of New York State and national technology teaching standards required. Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred.

A background screening will be required.
