The Assistant Director for Mission Engagement is responsible for promoting the mission/significance of Siena College to the Siena community and the public.
The primary responsibility is to partner with families to establish a mentoring relationship between youth and a Siena student to support each other in realizing their full potential. The Assistant Director will lead the College's effort to partner with families committed to helping their child: develop academic abilities, build character and make good life decisions.
Specifically, the Assistant Director oversees the mentoring program's relationship with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Capital Region (BBBSCR) and directs the summer enrichment program for youth.
The Assistant Director will work creatively and collaboratively with the members of the College's Mission Team. In the first years, the Assistant Director will reimagine the summer enrichment program for at risk youth in the capital region by continuing the mentoring experience from the academic year through the summer. The summer enrichment camp will further the mission of the Siena mentoring program and aid in closing the "summer learning loss." The community-building mentoring camp experience will strengthen the academic component taking advantage of the many summer experiences on the Siena campus.
The program will be developed taking into consideration: Size, Staffing, Themes, Length of time and Financial resources.
A bachelor's degree and some relevant experience is required. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment. Annual Virtus Training is required. A background screening will be required.
