Siena College Custodial Repair and Supply Specialist in Loudonville, New York

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain campus cleanliness to the highest standards without receiving a specified building assignment and to repair custodial equipment and maintain and deliver custodial supplies. The Specialist is charged with providing stewardship to all campus buildings in the absence of the regularly assigned Building Captains, Lead Custodians, Custodians, and Janitors as well as providing supervision in the absence of the Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor. This position will act as a point person for emergency call-ins and provides direction and support for any disaster recovery, and building relief as necessary. Custodial duties include but are not limited to policing public areas, dust mop, sweep, wet mop, spray-buff floors, vacuum, clean rugs and carpets. Scrub and clean restroom fixtures and keep supplied with towels, soap and other items. Dust and clean walls, doors, windows, woodwork, furniture and other above floor surfaces. Clean elevators and stairwells, stripping and refinishing floors, using floor machines, vacuuming furniture and draperies, wall vacuuming and washing, vent and radiator washing, light fixture vacuuming and cleaning with accessible bulb replacement, waste receptacle washing, and carpet shampooing with vehicle shampooer. Perform snow removal operations as necessary. In addition to daily and extensive cleaning, the Custodial Repair and Supply Specialist position is responsible for repairing custodial equipment, managing custodial inventory control and delivering custodial chemicals and supplies. Keep an accurate inventory maintenance record and reporting system. Submit orders through proper channels and notify the Service Desk of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.

Job Requirements:

A high school diploma, or the equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred and at least 1 year of relevant experience are required. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment.

A background screening will be required.
