Siena College Facilities Grounds Supervisor - Internal Search Only in Loudonville, New York

Maintain campus landscape to the highest standards possible with available resources. Directs all Grounds staff in daily operations and provides guidance for all work and safe work practices. Responsible for Grounds crew personnel management including staff training, personnel interviews and selection, monitoring staff performance and completing evaluations. Recommends and initiates the purchase of all Grounds supplies and purchase of grounds equipment. Assists with the development and monitoring of the operations budget for personnel and supplies. Maintains a thorough equipment and fleet inventory and works with our Garage mechanics to oversee proper care and custody of all vehicles and equipment. Supervises maintenance of our athletic fields and interfaces with our Athletic Dept staff on a regular basis to help ensure our support is meeting their needs. Establishes teamwork, cooperation, communication, and collaboration between the Grounds department and all other departments.

Supervises vendors, consultants and contractors supporting campus grounds work to help ensure that all work meets college standards for quality and schedule compliance. Manages the solid waste management program which includes trash and recycling programs and performs as the program manager for these service contracts. Develops plans for improving grounds operations and participates in planning to modify and enhance the existing campus infrastructure. Participates in the Backlog of Essential Maintenance and Repair (BEMAR) process and drafts assigned capital budget requests. Manages other grounds maintenance service contracts including tree care, pavement maintenance, landscaping services, etc. Manages campus response operations for all forms of snow and ice events. Provides direction and support for any disaster recovery working collaboratively with all Facilities and campus emergency response personnel.

Salary: $ 28.64/hour*

Job Requirements:

An Associate's degree or 10 years of demonstrated experience in a similar environment and three or more years of relevant experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment. A background screening is required.
