Under direction of supervisor, worker will pick apples for fresh market and/or processing. Worker will perform any combination of tasks involved in the operation of farm equipment in the apple enterprise which will involve planting, cultivating and harvesting of fruits such as, tilling soil, cultivating, planting stock, pruning trees and bushes, removing suckers and runners from trees, vines and plants. Other duties include laying out, installing, and moving irrigation pipes and sprinklers, assisting in repairing fences, unloading trucks, clearing fields, burning brush, hand thinning fruit, and smudging. Will be required to work in inclement weather in a range of field temperatures from 30 degrees to 85 degree with possible wet conditions. Workers must be physically able to pick fruit, most of which is done from ladders with lower branches picked from ground.

Worker occasionally will use tractors and trucks on farm property to move equipment and supplies such as irrigation pipes, pumps, fertilizer, ladders, bins, and other supplies. They will also operate engines and pumps for irrigation, and move, setup, and start fans or smudge pots for frost protection. They will also move empty bins around in orchard for pickers and will transport full bins of fruit from orchard to packing shed or storage facility.


* Must have three months of experience in hand harvesting of apples and working in apple orchards.
* Employer will train
* Exposure to extreme temperatures
* Lifting requirement of 75 lbs.
* Repetitive movements, extensive pushing / pulling, extensive walking and frequent stooping.
* Post-hire drug screening, at employer's expense.
