34 Full Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 08/23/21-11/15/21. Under direction of supervisor, worker will perform any combination of tasks involved in the Apple & Grape enterprises only for the purpose of tilling soil, mowing grass, cutting brush,and planting young trees. will prune trees, remove suckers, remove blossoms, and thin fruit to improve quality of fruit. Will engage in weeding and other activities to keep orchards clean. Will be required to work in inclement weather and in a range of field temperatures. When picking apples for fresh market, worker will remove apples from tree with stems attached, brush removed, placing them in a molded plastic 3/4 bushel drop bottom bucket with a canvas strap that slips over the head and rests on shoulder. Full buckets weigh up to 40lbs and are carried to supervisor before emptying into a standard 20 bushel bin. For processing apples, apples are picked tree run without brush(no drops) and transferred to a standard 20 bushel bin. Workers must be physically able to pick tree fruit, most of which is done from ladders with lower branches being picked from the ground. Trim Fruit trees,hoe succoring and summer thinning of trees. Will repair boxes. Productivity must be at least 4 bins per day for fresh market apples and 6 bins per day for processing apples. Workers are required to handle ladders up to 8ft long and weigh 2lbs per foot.Workers will be instructed to pick mature fruit according to size,color and other USDA grade standards.
