Village of Lyndonville Public Works Maintenance Worker in Lyndonville, New York
Performs public works activities in the village; does related duties as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position involves responsibility for the efficient performance of any work within the jurisdiction of a village public works unit. Supervision is received from the Public Works Superintendent and may occasionally be exercised over seasonal and part-time workers. EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only) Participates in the construction, extension, repair and maintenance of streets, sidewalks and parking areas; Operates and maintains a water treatment plant and a sewage treatment plant; Participates in the maintenance and expansion of storm and sanitary sewers and water distribution lines; Participates in the collection and disposal of garbage and trash; Supervises and participates in the maintenance and care of parks and playgrounds. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school; AND two (2) years experience on public works activities related to the village functions; OR any combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work. Residency Requirement: Must reside in the Village of Lyndonville or within a 10 mile radius from the Village of Lyndonville within Orleans County. Said residency requirement must be satisfied within a six month period from the date of hire.
