NJ Employer Agricultural Equipment Operator/Field Laborer in Madrid, New York
Anticipated period of employment: Mar 25, 2025 to Nov 30, 2025
The field laborers will drive tractors/trucks, payloaders, silage trucks, and manure trucks and operate skid steer to perform a variety of crop raising duties pertaining to soy, corn, alfalfa, rye, oats, grass, and hay. They will plow, harrow, plant, fertilize, cultivate, and harvest using a variety of farm machinery. Drive tractors/trucks and flatbed trailers containing various crops and fertilizer grown and produced on farm to various farm-owned and leased properties in St. Lawrence county, New York. Load and unload trucks using forklift or other agricultural equipment. They will pick stones, clean out and repair fence line. Manure pushing/spreading, barn cleaning. Workers will also clean equipment and complete building repairs as needed. Workers will perform general seasonal grounds maintenance work, such as mowing and weed-whacking on farm property. Workers will complete routine maintenance as needed of equipment including tire repairs. The workers must be able to lift 80lbs with assistance. 1 month of verifiable experience in crop related work. Work in all weather conditions. Hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm (Mon-Fri) with a half hour for lunch; 7:00am to 12:00pm(Saturday). Workers may be offered work occasionally on Sunday, but this is voluntary and not required. Work schedule and hours may vary and may include a rotating schedule based on weather and crop conditions. Valid drivers license or foreign equivalent required.
