**Internship Program Overview:**

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

**Summary of Role:**

The selected candidate will partner with an experienced Gases Engineer and be responsible for all aspects of operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and continuous improvements to bulk and specialty gas supply and distribution systems at Fab 8 along with insuring incoming material quality and regulatory compliance with all City, State, and Federal guidelines.

**Essential Responsibilities include:**

- Utilize all Safety and Operational Risk Control Procedures to coordinate and/or perform all work activities in support of GLOBALFOUNDRIES goal of zero safety or environmental incidents and no production impacts
- Support Facilities Gas Engineers/System owners to establish best practical approach for incoming gas quality monitoring and efficient maintenance of gas supply and distribution systems
- Support Facilities Engineers to complete projects required to support operational improvements and cost reduction initiatives
- Assist in the development of effective Standard Operational Procedures (SOP's) for assigned equipment and systems
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) program to identify and correct operational issues before they impact production
- Support additional initiatives as needed to support the operations of the Fab 8 facility

**Other Responsibilities:**

- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

**Required Qualifications:**

- Education - Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong planning & organizational skills
- Strong computer software skills. Ability to quickly learn and navigate business applications, gas systems operational and monitoring systems, and statistical analytical applications
