**Internship Program Overview:**

**Summary of Role:**

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Interns to fill Facilities Engineering Position in the Facilities Department covering the Ultra-Pure Water and Wastewater Treatment. The positions will support the ongoing operations of Facilities Systems required to support our 300mm Wafer Fabrication facility located in Malta, New York. Additionally, these Intern positions will ensure all Facilities Systems maintain regulatory compliance and meet all City, State, and Federal guidelines. Finally, this Intern position will lead continuous improvement initiatives required to improve equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.

**Essential Responsibilities include:**

- Utilize all Safety and Operational Risk Control procedures to coordinate work activities support GLOBALFOUNDRIES goal for zero safety accidents and production impacts
- Assist in the development of effective Standard Operational Procedures (SOP's) for assigned equipment and systems and compile data to support these
- Support Facilities Engineers to complete tasks required to support the maintenance excellence program
- Completion of specific project and project deliverables in the UPW/WWT team as aligned at the start of the internship
- Support Facilities Engineers and participate in teams to complete projects required to support operational and cost control initiatives related to UPW/WWT
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) program identify and correct operational issues before they impact production
- Utilize the FMCS controls system to pull data analyze and come up with solutions / updated operational controls / set points to optimize plan operations
- Assist engineering staff as required to support construction, commissioning and startup of all new equipment and systems following the GlobalFoundries Fab 8 Commissioning Process
- Support additional initiatives as required to support the operations of the Fab 8 facility, this may include bench top testing, in field measurements, other items as needed to support Engineering operations.


**Other Responsibilities:**

- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.


**Required Qualifications:**

- Education - Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or similar area of study
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)


**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Dynamic, resourceful self-starter with good analytical & strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and able to write SOP's and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAP's)
- Available and willing to flex work hours as needed to support emergency operational issue
