Li-Lac Chocolates Assistant Store Manager in Manhattan, New York

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of a Li-Lac Chocolate store, including customer service, its employees, merchandising, and sales results. This position acts as the store manager when the store manager is absent. They actively support the store manager with ensuring the Li-Lac store is a well-run, customer-oriented shop with a culture of friendly service, clean and attractive merchandising, and a go-getter atmosphere. This position reports to the Store Manager and/or President.

Specific Responsibilities include: • Customer Service: Ensure every customer receives the highest standard of service o Actively train the staff to greet every customer with a smile and build rapport o Ensure every customer receives ‘full attention’ (i.e. no cell phones, no distractions) o Set the example for what ‘great customer service’ looks like

• Store Operations & Inventory Management: Ensure stores are running at peak efficiency o Support the manager in training the staff to be fully proficient in all store operating duties and procedures o Handle all banking and reporting activities and ensure accuracy, completeness, and discretion, in the absence of the store manager o Complete daily inventory order forms accurately and fax each night to the factory o Anticipate upcoming inventory needs and provide ample notice so the factory can fill in time o Be sure all chocolate sold at the stores meet our freshness standards, or remove from inventory o Represent and manage the store in the store managers absence o Learn the store managers job

• Merchandising: Maintain ‘full & abundant’ cases, counters, tables and shelves o Ensure stores are fully stocked with clean displays, well organized, priced, and well presented o Maintain seasonally appropriate displays and windows o Maintain cleanliness standards, ensuring shelves, counters, and windows are wiped down daily, floors are mopped each night and scrubbed weekly, bathrooms are cleaned weekly

• Chocolate Knowledge: Display expert knowledge about our products, ingredients and key selling points o Be a brand ambassador and tell the ‘Li-Lac’ story to customers o Ensure all associates convey key selling points, product benefits, special order items, and special services

• Business & Growth: Drive sales and pursue new business opportunities o Participate in local activities to promote your store: neighborhood outreach, events, community groups, etc.
