NYU Langone Health System Residency Program Director, NYU Langone Health in Manhattan, New York

The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is recruiting an exceptional residency program director.

The program director will report directly to the vice chair for education and academic affairs. They will build upon an exceptional educational program that incorporates asynchronous learning, simulation, and multimedia technology. They will use sophisticated data and analytics to inform and drive resident talent.

The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine is home to a four-year, 72-person residency with a rich history and world-class talent. We offer seven fellowships programs: Peds EM, Medical Toxicology, Clinical Informatics, Simulation, Ultrasound, and Safety, and Healthcare Leadership and Operations. We provide care to 500,000 patients annually in our clinical sites in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. We are a diverse group of faculty and trainees actively seeking to promote women and other underrepresented minorities into leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a culture of excellence and world class care within the residency program

Provide leadership across all aspects of residency education, including clinical, educational, research, and ACGME accreditation activities

Provide mentorship to and develop the associate program directors

Implement innovative curriculum design and assessment initiatives across multiple education platforms

Promote growth of resident scholarly activities

Collaborate across departments and institutions to ensure optimal resident experiences

Enhance current educational platforms which include FOAM, asynchronous learning, flipped classroom, and simulation

Develop collaborative educational opportunities to reflect the changing healthcare environment

Associate Program Directors

Candidate must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and have a minimum of five years of post-residency clinical experience.

Ideal candidate will be:

A seasoned emergency medicine educator with experience within an ACGME-accredited residency program and a proven track record of educational accomplishments in an academic medical center.

Able to create curriculum, develop assistant program directors, and build collaborative relationships across the hospital system is strongly desired.

Have additional formal training and experience with program development, scholarly activities, educational leadership experience, and ACGME accreditation.
