Development Intern for a Healthcare Nonprofit!
The Development Office of The New Jewish Home seeks a paid, hybrid, part-time intern for Spring 2023 to assist with ongoing fundraising events, activities, and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an intern interested in events, operations, health and aging and/or development to learn best development practices. The internship will run from January 2023 – May 2023, with opportunities to start earlier and continue into the summer.
Reporting to the Development Coordinator and Vice President of Individual Giving
Hybrid – must be able to work in our office on W 105th Street, New York, NY at least 1 day a week, preferably Monday or Wednesday (flexible virtual hours throughout the rest of the week)
Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)
Responsibilities
Support with executing virtual and in-person events
Support with fundraising and donor management through reporting, board personalization cards, acknowledgment letters, and invoice’s, navigating and operating our database Raiser’s Edge (RE).
Assist in soliciting sponsors, advertising, selling tickets, coordinating volunteers, covering the logistics and administration of the event.
Assist in production and oversight of all event materials (letters, invitations, posters, flyers, etc.).
Coordination and organization of supplies in the office
Conduct comprehensive research on major gift, foundation and corporate prospects for development officers.
Skills & Requirements
Student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field
Interest in learning more or pursuing a career in the Nonprofit, Fundraising, and Events Industry
Must have strong organizational ability, typing and computer skills, communications, and problem solving skills
Excellent writing and research skills
Excel, Canva, and data base skills (Raiser’s Edge experience a plus!)
