PAID Internship Opportunity – Summer/Winter 2021
Special Events Development Intern
The Development Office of The New Jewish Home seeks an intern for Winter 2022 to Spring 2022 to assist with ongoing fundraising events, activities and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an intern interested in events, operations, health and aging and/or development to learn best development practices. The internship will run from March to the June.
Reporting to the Donor Relations and Engagement Officer and Director of Special Events Fundraising and Engagement
We are seeking a motivated student with:
Support with executing all virtual and in-person events
Support with fundraising and donor management through reporting, board personalization cards, acknowledgment letters, and invoice’s, navigating and operating our database Raiser’s Edge (RE).
Special Events systems, processes, and software including, RE, One cause, Canva.
Assist in soliciting sponsors, advertising, selling tickets, coordinating volunteers, covering the logistics and administration of the event.
Assist in production and oversight of all event materials (letters, invitations, posters, flyers, etc.).
Running errands for supplies and working with staff to ensure the completion of a successful event.
Ability to conduct comprehensive research on major gift, foundation and corporate prospects for development officers.
Interest in learning more or pursuing a career in the Nonprofit, Fundraising, and Events Industry ideal candidate will have excellent communications, organization and problem solving skills
Must have strong organizational ability, typing and computer skills
Excellent writing and research skills
Excel and data base skills (Raiser’s Edge experience a plus!)
