5 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 02/07/2021 - 11/14/2021. Manually plant, cultivate, & harvest fruits, grain & vegetables such as apples, strawberries, pumpkins & squash. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, & knives. Duties include tilling soil & applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; apply pesticides; and cleaning, packing and loading harvested products. Construct trellises, repair fences & farm buildings and participate in irrigation activities. Picking rocks out of the fields onto a wagon prior to harvest. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate spray & harvest crops. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Harvest apples by hand. Harvesting strawberries into quart baskets & putting pumpkins & squash into crates in the field. Washing & packing squash & pumpkins into cardboard boxes for delivery. Apply pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm manager of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, & weeds to determine the selection & application of pesticides & fertilizers. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Record information about crops, such as pesticides use, yields or costs. Productivity must be at least 5 (20 bu) bins per day for fresh market apples and 7 (20 bu) bins per day for processing apples. All fruit to be handled with care to avoid bruising. Apples injured by bruising shall not exceed 1% as defined in the US standard for grades. Workers are expected to work at least the number of days and hours specified. Depending on weather, crop or other conditions, workers may be requested, but not required to work up to seven days per week and/or on the Sabbath and up to 12 hours per day. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all the tools and equipment required in the performance of the duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothes. Field temperatures may range from below 0 to 90+ degrees (F), with possible wet morning conditions. Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. Workers who are not authorized by the employer must leave their cell phones in the camp; they are not to have their cell phones on them while working in the field. Once hired employer may conduct random drug tests at employers expense. Failure to comply with request or testing positive will result in termination. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months of verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in his order.
