JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for managing efforts around Government Relations, Diversity & Inclusion ("D&I"), Environmental, Social, and Governance ("ESG"). This role will assist with the development and execution of the overall D&I strategy aimed at promoting a culture of inclusion and the advancement of underrepresented talent. This role will work with Employee Resource Groups to provide support and resources on activities within their cohort. The incumbent will also assist with supplier diversity efforts via outreach, certification monitoring and other initiatives. The Government Relations responsibilities include supporting internal and external communications on government decisions that have a significant impact on Henry Schein. They will also engage with division leaders to assist with and support growth in government accounts. This position will also act as a project manager in facilitating the collection of ESG data globally across key business teams and building presentations as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Government Relations (50%)

Act as the Government Relations lead on major government contracts.

Provide updates on legislative developments that impact the organization.

Manage and coordinate the Medical Impact Pod meeting such as scheduling, ensuring a quorum, drafting and providing meeting agendas, and aligning and preparing requests to the Pod in coordination with the business and Henry Schein Cares.

Research and analyze competitive intelligence to keep internal teams abreast of industry developments.

Engage with government entities including relevant external trade and professional organizations.

Diversity and Inclusion (30%)

Cultivate the implementation of Diversity & Inclusion within the organization and externally by designing education programs, partnering with groups to understand and address diversity within their teams.

Advise the D&I Council by developing content, researching best practices and participate in Council meetings.

Partner with our Joint Ventures and Subsidiaries to help design programming related to D&I.

Support the Supplier Diversity Program:

Collaborate with the Government Sales team in the bidding process.

Perform industry benchmarking of supplier diversity programs.

Assist with the identification of potential suppliers and contracting.

Participate in Employee Resource Group Management:

Attend team meetings and calls

Lead event planning for corporate liaison functions

Develop and format PowerPoint presentations

Environmental, Social, and Governance (20%)

Streamline the ESG global data collection process and partner with Corporate Communications and others to develop appropriate content.

Prepare materials for Sustainability Committee and Board on ESG matters from building presentations, agendas, and other collateral as needed.

Establish internal systems and processes to manage the Sustainability Committee and Board on ESG efforts.

Manage ESG rating agency survey inquiries and conduct analyses to determine which are most critical to shareholders.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE:

Seasoned, experienced senior level professional; in-depth knowledge and full understanding of multiple disciplines and good knowledge of other related disciplines. Assignments are broad in nature and require excellent judgment and analytical ability, evaluation, originality and ingenuity to solve. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories and concepts of a particular field. Resolve a wide range of complex issues and assignments in creative and effective ways. Serve as a resource to others to resolve complex problems and issues. May play a support role in high-level projects that have an impact on company's future direction. May take on project lead role on medium-sized projects. Barriers to entry may exist at this level.

COMPLEXITY:

Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Interpret internal and/or external business issues and recommend solutions/best practices to solve a range of complex problems and assignments; take a broad perspective to identify solutions. Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Guide others in resolving complex issues based on existing solutions and procedures. Network with key senior internal and external personnel inside and outside own area of expertise.

SUPERVISION:

Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and work independently with guidance in only the most complex situations. May act as a resource to formally train and mentor TSMs with less experience. Assignments are broad and moderately complex in nature. May manage vendor relationships.

Qualifications

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 8 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline (e.g. Business, Political Science or Organizational Development). Master's degree or juris doctorate preferred.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

6 - 8 years of experience working with diverse populations, government affairs, and/or corporate social responsibility

Knowledge of government/ regulatory affairs

Experience with federal legislative processes

Experience distilling regulatory requirements into digestible action items, for audience at varying levels of seniority

Experience in research and analysis of legislation

Working knowledge of talent acquisition, performance management, retention, training & development

Possess a high level of emotional intelligence

Understand the company's business operations, culture and values

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
