Third-Party Risk Management Leader (Director)
Grant Thornton LLP is seeking an experienced Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Director to work in the Office of the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer
The TPRM Director will design, establish, and improve third-party risk management processes, policies, and risk performance measures to guide Grant Thornton in driving effective and efficient risk management throughout the third-party life cycle. The Director will guide the assessment, planning, implementation, management, and coordination of TPRM initiatives and activities at Grant Thornton and its subsidiaries.
In this role you will bring a systematic and disciplined approach to third-party risk management, including oversight, control, and monitoring processes. You will establish a TPRM framework customized to Grant Thornton’s environment that will drive risk-informed decisions and action. For success in this role, you’ll bring a thorough knowledge of TPRM processes, as well as keen business judgement. Your core competencies will include analytical, writing, presentation, reporting, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and continuously improve a comprehensive Third-Party Risk Management program for the firm’s internal operations, including leading program related projects.
Develop an effective TPRM framework customized to the firm’s business and culture, and develop related policies, procedures, processes and guidance as needed.
Analyze and assess business processes and requirements to integrate the TPRM approach with various stakeholders and related initiatives covering the full third-party lifecycle.
Lead TPRM initiatives with cross-functional internal stakeholders to monitor, mitigate, and report on risks and ensure compliance with applicable legal/regulatory requirements
Apply a deep understanding of various types of third-party risks and how to mitigate them, including strategic, reputational, growth, financial, operational and compliance risks.
Ensure strong oversight of all third-party risks, providing senior management visibility into existing and emerging threats.
Recommend and implement a TPRM technology solution that will meet the needs of a broad range of process objectives and stakeholder requirements.
Stay informed of TPRM standards, regulatory and enforcement agency expectations, industry trends, and best practices.
Establish and monitor KPIs/metrics for TPRM initiatives and provide periodic reporting.
Promote adherence to TPRM standards and provide training and guidance as needed.
Sustain strong collaboration with peer functional units and stakeholders.
Qualifications/Skills
BS/BA Bachelor of Science degree or Bachelor of Arts or equivalent years of experience
Minimum 10+ years of related experience in enterprise risk management
Proven experience as a TPRM professional and leader;
Well-versed in TPRM program management, frameworks and best practices, and strong project execution skills
Experience and/or working knowledge of related disciplines, including strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier information security, supplier diversity, ESG, third-party compliance, information technology vendor management, privacy, enterprise risk management and business continuity
Ability to think and act strategically and creatively, while having strong business acumen
High degree of integrity and strong work ethic
Excellent writing and editing skills are mandatory
Proven experience working collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders
Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
An analytical mind able to discern the complexities of procedures and regulations
Experience with GRC tools and other risk management information systems preferred
Certification in TPRM, risk management, or related discipline is a plus
Experience working in professional services industry is a plus
The ideal candidate is self-starting, goal-oriented, business savvy and adaptable
The base salary range for this position in the firm's Denver, CO and Sacramento, CA offices is between $161,600 - $269,400.
The base salary range for this position in the firm's New York City, Los Angeles, CA, and Orange County, CA offices is between $174,500 - $291,000
The base salary range for this position in the firm's San Francisco, CA and San Jose, CA offices is between $185,800 - $309,800.
