NYU Winthrop Hospital Coordinator, Admissions & Financial Aid in Mineola, New York

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Coordinator, Admissions & Financial Aid

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting the Manager and Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid with administration, coordination, and daily oversight with providing support for the undergraduate medical student admissions and financial aid daily operations. Interpret and apply policies, practices and procedures to address and ensure accurate responses for all admissions and financial aid related inquiries. Coordinate the communication and dissemination of timely and accurate information, and provide financial aid counseling and guidance to students with completing the application process and providing loan type amounts and debt repayment information. Collaborate with Management and Coordinator Admissions and Financial Aid in managing and facilitating activities, events, and workshops, and with making strategic decisions relating to making changes affecting the workflow and daily operations.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting management with oversight for daily operational functions including applicant contact during initial application period and post interview period, and with interview day process oversight and problem solving. Coordinates daily interview scheduling for both applicants and interviewers and maintains a backup interviewer list. Maintains contact information for interviewers and backup interviewers. Coordinates medical student interviews and assists with management of the entire interview day, coordinating each step of the process. Coordinate with management in the review, update and creation of policies and procedure relating to the admissions and financial aid daily functions and with making annual revisions to the application process as needed.
Develops and administers timelines, processes, and workflow to ensure optimal functionality of the financial aid and admissions daily operations. Accurately interpret and apply policies, practices and procedure in the timely processing of applications. Provide financial aid counseling, support and guidance to students with completing their financial aid and admissions applications, scholarship and loan distributions.
Provide oversight for all submitted documents to ensure accurate interpretation of policies and procedures and to ensure accuracy and completeness of applications. Process applications, prepare transcripts, collect and ensure compliance of legal documentation, ensure completion of health forms and all supporting application documentations. Compile and disseminate accurate and timely responses to students and management.
Posts financial aid awards in PeopleSoft system for Central Financial Aid office. Participates in National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) on-line courses to stay current with changing policies and procedures.
Plans and coordinates various student financial aid workshops and events. Travels to and
attends regional and national admission fairs, colleges and universities to support the recruitment for qualified and diverse applicant pool. Functions as a liaison to premedical advisors at regional and national colleges and universities.
Maintains working knowledge of admissions policies including admissions requirements, selection criteria and timelines and deadlines in the admissions process and working knowledge of the admission committee structure, organization and committee members conflict of interest policy.
Responsible for planning all aspects of admissions events during interview season including tours, lunches, and presentations and coordinate activities related to annual revisit for admitted students.Prepare recruiting and publication materials for the Medical School Admissions Office. Create agendas for department meeting and coordinates meetings. Prepares detailed admissions data reports to analyze attributes, characteristics and demographics and financial reports to reconcile applicants and collected application fees. Review reports for accuracy and presents results to management.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Degree:
Bachelor's Degree In Related Field
Work Experience:
3 - 5 Years Progressively responsible experience in college financial aid or student services setting or related finance or customer service experience
3 - 5 Years Project coordination experience
Skills:
Solid written and oral communication skills and, strong customer service skills and ability to represent NYULISOM and the Office of Admissions to all prospective students.
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules.
Ability to use all basic office equipment. Moderate-advanced computer proficiency, including, standard office software applications.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
