Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

Oracle Communications Global Business Unit (CGBU) Overview

The Oracle CGBU is primarily focused on leading Oracle s product strategy in the communications market. The Oracle CGBU product portfolio includes Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment as well as Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management applications suites, which are deployed by global communication service providers such as Bharti, Korea Telecom, Orange, SiriusXM, Telefonica, Vodafone among many others.

Position Overview

The position requires a smart and seasoned product management professional to lead the development and execution of product strategies for the Oracle Communications BRM product offerings. This position reports to the VP of Product Management for the Monetization & Orchestration product lines.

The BRM Product Management Director will be a champion of the BRM product line by providing communications domain and BRM product expertise. The position will be responsible for articulating the Oracle BRM value proposition both internally and externally. Additional responsibilities will include leading the development of business cases, product requirements, product delivery plans, product collateral, and implementation of core strategies that maximize revenue, improve customer satisfaction and enhance the value of the Oracle brand.


  • Providing domain and product expertise to internal (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and other relevant teams within Oracle) and external customers (prospects, existing customers, and partners)

  • Working closely with customers, partners and internal teams (Sales, Product Marketing, Professional Services, and Engineering) to evangelize the BRM product, to offer solutions based on BRM and the Oracle Communications Suite, and to identify approaches to enhancing product capabilities and the overall value of the product

  • Leading the development of business cases and analytical support/insight for new business initiatives; this requires identifying and understanding key issues, quantitatively analyzing those issues, and communicating key insights and results

  • Prioritizing product roadmap and initiatives for the development teams

  • Driving product definitions which translate business needs, customer needs and technological capabilities into product features and enhancements

  • Leading cross-functional teams to produce product specifications, establish milestones, and manage the development, implementation and marketing launch against goals

  • Communicating product status, key issues and launch plans to key constituents across the CGBU organization including executive/senior management, engineering, sales, marketing, services and customer support teams

  • Measuring product performance and identification of key levers of improvement, including design and analysis of relevant reports

Hiring Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience with at least 7 years of product management leadership in the communications industry ideally in the charging and billing domain.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.

  • Previous experience in Telco billing, Telco business support system management or consulting, particularly in BRM and ECE, is highly desirable.

  • Solid understanding of enterprise software development process, Agile a must.

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and managing new product launches, including a proven ability to champion products throughout the lifecycle and drive to key decisions.

  • Sound business judgment and ability to build business case around a product.

  • BS/BA required, MBA (or MS/PhD) preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to develop and confidently deliver compelling presentations to all levels of an organization and to large internal/external audiences.

  • Strong management, leadership, organizational and analytical skills required.

  • Must be a team player who works well in collaborative environment.

  • Willingness to travel (30% on average).
