Staples Warehouse Maintenance Tech 3rd Shift $1000 Bonus in Montgomery, New York

Shift : 12:00am-8:30am/Monday - Friday

Pay Rate : Up to $28/hr

$1,000 Bonus paid out after 90 days.

Pay is between $17/hr - $26/hr depending on experience and shift differential pay

What you’ll be doing: As a Maintenance Technician 1 you will perform general maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, skill saws, propane torch, man-lift, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, hydraulic systems, dock door, leveling equipment, racking systems, plumbing systems, sprinkler systems, air compressor, dryer equipment, and pneumatics.

You will also perform construction work like rough in and drywall, operate electrical testing equipment and maintain all mechanical equipment. You will be asked to use skills like welding, plumbing and carpentry.

In this role you will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.

What you bring to the table:

  • A mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and industrial batteries, including watering, washing, testing and repair

  • An ability and aptitude for working with electricity

  • An ability to use vendor manuals and procedures to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks

  • An ability to be trained and MHE certified to operate power material handling equipment, i.e. Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, etc.

  • An inclusive approach with your colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues

  • An ability to demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving

  • An ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices

  • An ability to be comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Experience in forklift maintenance, conveyor maintenance or a related field

  • Basic English language skills (both verbal and written) 

  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible

  • As a Full-Time associate, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need

  • Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet or more as needed

  • An ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Military or Trade school background
