RATHBUN FARMS INC Agriculture Equipment Operator in Naples, New York
1 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Job available 4/1/2024- 12/1/2024.
Duties: Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products. Position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and closing full containers. Bailing hay. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers.
Sorting, grading potatoes and preparing them shipment to the chip plants, driving, harvesting potatoes & grain, wash equipment, shop work, painting, farm landscaping.
Operate trucks or other multi purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday; and or transport workers to grocery store, bank or facilities on an as needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a drivers license.
Requirements:
- 3 months experience
- Frequent stooping/ bending over
- Lifting requirement of 75 lbs.
- Extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, Repetitive movements
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
