Position Title: Demand Planner

Location: New Berlin

Department: Sales & Operations

The Demand Planner supports the company’s Planning group by driving the baseline demand forecast and providing KPIs relating to the group’s demand planning activities. The Demand Planner has autonomous control over the statistical baseline forecast output. They will work with the Planning group to reduce forecast error and bias reduction through the isolation and minimization of artificial demand variability and the integration of domain outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Improve the predictive accuracy of the company’s demand plans through the effective integration of domain knowledge into baseline forecasts.

Manage the customer forecast integration process including:

  • Forecast error and bias analysis for customer forecasts

  • Management of customer forecast guidelines (time fences, data standards, etc…)

  • Remove customer history from statistical baseline when forecasts are integrated

  • Apply corrective coefficients as necessary

  • Identify past exceptions and communicate to the team.

Manage the integration of internal domain knowledge including:

  • Liaising with Sales, Marketing and Customer Service to identify upcoming events.

Maintain the company’s log of forecast adjustments.

Make recommendations regarding process improvements contributing to reduction of forecast error and bias. Evaluate those changes.

Analyze and evaluate marketing impact on forecasted items.

New product introduction forecast and evaluation.

Provides leadership, best practices, research, support and/or training to advance S&OP applications towards the goal of improving cash and reducing costs.

Back up and support for S&OP Center members.

Other tasks assigned by management.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Work experience requirements (years and type): Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high SKU seasonal business

  • Practical knowledge of stats packages (i.e.: SAS, SPSS or similar) and or forecasting tools (I.E.: Forecast Pro, John Galt Forecast X, Smart Forecaster or similar.)

Proven track record of highly effective analysis and communication

Education requirements:

  • : IBF Certified Professional Forecaster or similar designation

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Commerce, Mathematics or similar
