Essential Functions:

  • Work with Development, Project, and IT teams to perform penetration tests, manual and automated vulnerability assessment scans, risk assessments, code reviews, and assist with remediation.
  • Identify and report vulnerabilities identified in applications and their supporting infrastructure, and researching threats and attack vectors that impact web, enterprise and mobile applications.

Additional Responsibilites:

  • Verify IT teams have coded according to best practices, verified that comprehensive code review was done properly, and test for vulnerabilities. Ability to provide solid guidance to the teams.
  • Work extensively with both Architects and Developers to ensure solutions are not only secure by design, but also throughout execution and evolution, with focus on corporate goals, strategy, process interdependencies, etc.
  • Ensure solutions remain secure ongoing, whether via code scan techniques, penetration testing, or other means, as available.
  • Perform both manual and automated penetration testing to not only identify code vulnerabilities, but the root cause behind such matters.
  • Document recommended remediation and also assist the Development, Project, and IT teams in the remediation efforts. Use manual and automatic scanning techniques to verify the identified vulnerability was remediated to the extent possible.
  • For any vulnerability not able to be remediated, document a Risk Exception including any compensating controls for vulnerabilities that cannot otherwise be remediated and submit to the CISO for Senior Management approval.
  • As a security SME, this role may also be called upon to help investigate root cause in the event of an application security event.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Conforms with all corporate policies and procedures

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or information technology related discipline preferred.

Experience:

More than 10 years- Hands on experience in IT with a minimum of 5 years in software design/lifecycle, web development, secure code review, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
