NBCFI’s U.S. Government and SSA Finance (DCM) group is engaged in advising, structuring, and originating debt securities across a broad range of International SSA issuers. The group is actively involved in executing high quality SSA and Canadian Provincial transactions in both the public and private placement markets to institutional investors globally.
The Vice President – U.S. Government and SSA Finance in Debt Capital Markets is responsible for being the subject matter expert on cross-border financing for Canadian Provincial and SSA issuers.
Duties and responsibilities
Serve and be recognized as an expert in terms of information on cross-border financing for SSA Issue. Has existing relationships with the current international SSA funding teams.
Follow Canadian companies’ economic performance on a day‐to‐day basis.
Analyze and comment on funding opportunities in a variety of currencies.
Highlight differences in the market that offer the best funding opportunity.
Provide International debt capital markets knowledge and expertise to all funding clients.
Actively work with SSA funding teams on IR work and road shows.
Target and pursue international arbitrage and MTN opportunities.
Be responsible for originating, structuring, marketing and pricing deals across multiple currencies.
Support seasoned issuers with their issuance program, marketing efforts and on-going market insight
Develop direct relationships with decision-makers on investor and issuer side
Identify, quantify and develop further avenues of growth within US markets, consistent with National Bank risk culture and strategy
Supervise the work of junior members on the team, as well as mentor them
Primary senior point of contact for all issuers assigned to the person.
Min. 5 years of Experience in the financial services / markets industry is required
Working knowledge of investment products, Canadian fixed income products preferred
Bachelor’s Degree required, concentration in finance or economics
Strong knowledge of financial services industry, products and services
Knowledge of industry rules and regulations
Ability to think strategically and develop a deep understanding of client & business needs
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently
US licenses – series 7, 63 and 57
