Debt Capital Markets Overview

The Debt Capital Markets (DCM) group consists of TD Securities' global debt advisory, underwriting, derivative solutions, syndication, private placement, securitization, and liability management businesses. DCM advises clients across the corporate, financial institutions (FIG), and sovereigns, supranationals, and agencies (SSA) sectors on optimizing their capital structures by raising funds in the global debt capital markets, acquisition financing, managing existing liabilities, and hedging interest rate and currency risk. DCM works alongside TD's corporate banking, investment banking, and sales & trading teams to deliver best in class advice for our clients. DCM functions as a hybrid between investment banking and sales and trading, providing the opportunity to develop the technical and presentation skills required for investment banking while working in a position that is closely correlated with the global markets.

Debt Capital Markets Summer Analyst Position Overview

The DCM Summer Analyst Program provides an opportunity for highly motivated, hardworking students entering their senior year of college or university to get a comprehensive, hands-on experience while working alongside TD Securities' experienced DCM professionals. Over the course of the internship, Summer Analysts will have the opportunity to rotate through several teams within the broader DCM group, as well as a rotation through sales and trading, including but not limited to:

•\tCorporate DCM

•\tFIG DCM

•\tSSA DCM

•\tSyndicate

•\tMarket Risk Solutions

•\tABS

•\tPrivate Placements

•\tLiability Management

Key roles and responsibilities of a DCM Summer Analyst include:

•\tCreating pitch books, market updates, global pricings and other client materials

•\tAssisting in live deals including origination, structuring and syndication of bond offerings, liability management exercises, and derivatives transactions

•\tMonitoring the global markets to identify trends and develop insights used in client communications

•\tPresent to clients on opportunities across the global bond markets (USD, CAD, AUD, EUR, GBP, etc.)

•\tDeveloping relationships with DCM professionals and more broadly across TD Securities

DCM Summer Analysts will participate in the broader Global Markets Summer Analyst program working alongside their Global Markets colleagues. The global program includes meetings with senior leaders at TD Securities, social events, coffee chats, teach-ins, and training, etc.

How You Will Be Successful

Being successful in Debt Capital Markets requires a unique skillset, as you will provide clients with expertise in debt and related products, macroeconomic and broader market views, and specialized industry coverage. The typical day of a DCM Summer Analyst is dynamic and fast-paced, and the most successful candidates will be able to efficiently process information in a constantly changing market environment. We are looking for highly ambitious and hardworking students with the following attributes who will develop into future leaders for our business:

•\tEach summer intern is paired with a junior and senior mentor within the DCM group to guide you through the summer
