Crimson Global Academy is a registered private online high school that allows students to learn without limits. We place no upper limit on the number of subjects a student can sit, no minimum age requirement for capable students to join accelerated classes, and no restrictions on where our students can study from, and where our teachers can teach from.

What you'll be responsible for:

The Academic Operations Manager is responsible for supporting all the functions of the Head of the CGA USA school.

This is a new position in a quickly growing online school. A successful candidate will be detailed oriented, critical thinking, execute with understanding how the academic/operational functions of a school run; while also having an innovative, open mindset to help develop CGA as a school for the future. The ability to communicate efficiently, problem solve, think globally, collaborate cross-functionally, and execute quickly are all highly valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Admin / Management

  • Update and regularly review school policy and teacher handbook documentation

  • Collect, review, and submit timesheets from staff

  • Monitor student attendance for any possible issues. Communicate with teachers on student issues and follow up with students/parents/teachers as appropriate.

  • Create a system to issue and monitor student IEPs as necessary and work with stakeholders to implement IEPs.

  • Become an expert at using all CGA provided technology tools and offer regular staff training to support the implementation and effective use of these tools

  • Maintain and update knowledge on best practices in the online high school space and offer regular staff training to pass on best practices.

  • Support the Head of School in planning and executing a full summer program and other new offerings at CGA USA.

  • Message students and parents on a monthly basis and be proactive about answering questions.

  • Support the re-enrolment process by offering parent meetings to discuss subject selection and crafting academic plans for students at the school.

  • Support student onboarding at the start of each intake.

2) Admissions Support

  • Create, manage, and communicate a schedule regular-recurring trial classes

  • Participate in webinars and support sessions to discuss CGA USA programs with potential families

  • Maintain proactive communication with admission teams to ensure they are confident about speaking to CGA USA programs

3) Teaching

  • Teach up to 3 classes per year (3-9 hours of class time per week)

  • Plan, prepare and deliver your relevant course

  • Create your course on a Learning Management System (LMS) designated by CGA, including developing resources and lesson content.

  • Utilize CGA technology tools to administer effective classes

  • Assess students for developmental, feedback, and reporting purposes.

  • Set and mark homework and other asynchronous content

  • Provide for the physical, social, cultural, and emotional wellbeing and safety of students while at school and assist in their progression towards inclusion

  • Report any issues with student behaviour or wellbeing

  • Maintain student records and samples of work

  • Provide input on academic reports to families, communicating students' progress

  • Maintain expert knowledge of subject area curricula and all extra-curricular activities associated with the subject area and create content, lesson plans and resources in line with this knowledge as required.

  • Provide guidance to CGA on the coordination of curricula for quality control

  • Other tasks may reasonably be requested by the Head of School, Crimson Global Academy USA

Desired qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of overall professional experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of high school teaching experience in a core subject or ESOL

  • Proven experience in education program development and execution is a plus

  • Highly detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize a diverse array of tasks and execute

  • Flexible mindset, with the ability to change direction and adapt quickly

  • Ability to understand priorities and execute projects/tasks with a large degree of autonomy

  • Entrepreneurial mindset
