Job Description

General Description

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Momentum and Student Success, and the Director of Admissions and in collaboration with the Admissions Recruitment team, the Admission Recruitment Coordinator will administer programs for targeting recruitment and admission of assigned cohorts. The Admissions Recruitment Coordinator, with latitude, will seek to develop and establish relationships that engage neighborhood high school counselors, CCNY alumni, as well as community and local government partners.

Other Duties

  • Develop and maintain partnerships between the college and local high school counselors, community partners, and alumni

  • Visit high schools, and meet with individual students, school counselors and administrators to facilitate application to City College

  • Provide pre-enrollment counseling and support, including navigating summer workshops, and financial literacy programs for students and parents and/or guardians

  • Identify scholarships, internships, and other financial resources/opportunities

  • Provide pre-admission counseling, utilizing specific knowledge of the college, educational programs, and degrees

  • Recruit students from assigned cohorts, and serve as primary point of contact for the assigned student groups

  • Guide assigned cohorts through the application process, and ensure 100% completion of the Admission and FAFSA Applications

  • Review completed admissions applications and make recommendations to Director of Admissions

  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and respond to inquiries from students, donors, campus executives, and other stakeholders

  • Create, package, monitor and distribute resource materials for student recruitment

  • Engage alumni in the recruitment and counseling process

  • Foster relationships with alumni and students

  • Accompany Admissions Recruitment Team to events, as appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned by the AVP or Director of Admissions


  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
