The Senior Market Development Manager is responsible for representing Sennheiser, designer of premium audio products, by providing advocacy based services at selected retail locations in an assigned territory. This role will drive sales, ensure the product is being represented correctly and build good relationships within the stores. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing seasonal, part-time sales staff in designated territories.


  • Increase client’s sales by increasing sales associates’ rate of recommendation and creating brand champions at retail

  • Manage a part time sales team in areas including but not limited to; hiring and training of employees, performance evaluation, management and engagement

  • Conduct store visits and ride-along with part time sales associates in assigned territory

  • Provide program direction and development to the part time sales team; conduct team conference and coaching calls with team

  • Create and implement promotional and special events to provide product demonstrations and sales presentations for consumers

  • Schedule and manage store visits and brand events in designated territory

  • Complete all administrative duties in accordance with BDS program standards and expectations to include but not limited to; store reporting, presentations, analytics, scheduling, and conference call attendance

  • Other functions as requested by management


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of related product and industry experience with a focus on selling and product training

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail/sales; especially field sales environment

  • Previous experience in people management preferred, specifically remote employee supervision


  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong presentation and

  • Must be able to manage change and unpredictability with positivity and the utmost professionalism

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Detail oriented, reliable and excellent follow through

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Self-motivated and must be able to work well independently

  • Organized with strong multi-tasking and time management skills

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Internet Explorer with basic experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point applications highly desirable

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Regularly stand, walk, talk and/or hear

  • Occasionally bend over, reach overhead, crouch, grasp, push or pull

  • Frequently carrying and lifting something into stores up to 10 lbs

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds

  • Regularly travel within market by use of personal vehicle or other modes of transportation

  • Continuous hand/eye coordination and fine manipulation
