CafeMedia VP of Publisher Development in New York City, New York

CafeMedia is seeking a dynamic, results-driven VP of Publisher Development to lead the team responsible for acquiring our largest and most strategic customers.

CafeMedia empowers more than 3,000 premium publishers with a collective reach of over 170MM monthly unique visitors (#11 largest ComScore property in December, 2020), to make a living doing what they love - producing great content - while we manage the advertising, and an increasing number of services, for them. From food to home to news, sports and technology and more, we represent the influential voices that make the internet a better and more open place. The VP of Publisher Development - CAM will both oversee the team responsible for and directly contribute to CAM’s new business goals in this player/coach role. Leading candidates are seasoned managers who lead by example and thrive on fostering success for their direct reports and CafeMedia’s publishers. They are programmatic experts, equally skilled at cultivating C-Suite customer relationships and leveraging metrics to drive CAM’s publisher acquisition process with operational rigor.

This is a critical leadership role on a growing team, reporting to the SVP of CAM.

Role + Responsibilities

  • Lead, recruit and inspire a team of exceptional sales and business development talent

  • Synthesize and effectively communicate complex digital advertising trends and industry themes to frame the value of CAM’s product and services

  • Nurture and close a pipeline of premium publisher relationships to contribute to team revenue goals

  • Pursue and manage strategic channel partnerships

  • Identify and assess potential new markets/areas of expansion of our offering

  • Create, automate and improve processes that accelerate sales and new business growth

  • Partner with Marketing to generate demand and execute ABM tactics

  • Forecast, track and measure sales KPIs using CRM and reporting to manage up to the CafeMedia executive team

  • Represent the voice of the customer in feature development prioritization and product roadmap planning

  • Contribute to and attend industry events and thought leadership forums

    Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience developing and leading high-performance sales and business development teams

  • 12+ years in digital media or adtech, including experience working with publishers or sell-side technology; network of industry connections a plus

  • Track record of consistently meeting / exceeding new business and revenue targets using a high-trust, consultative sales approach

  • Deep knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem and programmatic media buying/selling

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and strategic abilities - team player with a growth mindset and drive to win

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent
