Bridge Investment Group is expanding our ESG, and climate focused initiatives and we are looking to add a Corporate Climate Specialist. This individual will report to the Managing Director, Head of ESG & Sustainability and lead coordinating Bridge’s climate change projects and programs in helping our organization become a major contributor in the climate change adoption and mitigations across our footprint as we work towards establishing a net zero plan and goal. The Corporate Climate Specialist’s primary role will be to oversee Bridge’s GHG measurement, reporting, and verification services for internal and external stakeholders. An ideal person for this position has proven experience with decarbonization execution and net zero planning and has a keen interest in sustainability and climate change topics.
Support the Corporate ESG team’s development and execution of Bridge’s firmwide climate strategy, including decarbonization strategies and identification and implementation of commercial opportunities in climate solutions
Collaborate with Bridge’s ESG and climate consultants to organize critical carbon emission information from across the company and help establish appropriate decarbonization goals and targets that will contribute towards Net Zero planning for Bridge
Perform regular quality control checks of energy data being gathered in ESPM and Measurable to ensure Scope 1 and 2 emission information is correct
Serve as a critical manager lead for Bridge’s TCFD reporting process (including potential CDP and/or PCAF reporting) and work closely with Risk Management, Finance, Legal as well as Vertical Chief Investment Officers, Chief Operating Officers, asset managers, and operational professionals
Support overall development of Bridge’s climate strategy, including the Bridge Solar Initiative and collaboration with our PropTech team to identify opportunities for potential investing into climate-related initiatives, funds, companies, etc.
Serve as a key point of contact for Bridge corporate offices to share updated energy consumption information as part of the firm’s initiative to identify Scope 1 and 2 emissions for our offices’ operations
Keep abreast of current climate market trends, including international climate agreements, carbon markets, industry net zero commitments, and the regulatory environment
Support external relationships with important stakeholders, including Bridge shareholders, Bridge fund Limited Partners, industry thinktanks and, as relevant, industry climate framework groups
8+ years of work experience, including direct experience with effecting decarbonization strategies and net zero planning. Experience with real estate and/or real assets is ideal though not required.
Track record of identifying sustainability and decarbonization ideas and executing plans through to implementation, acting with initiative and high motivation.
Strong innovation and thought leadership, with a proven ability to contribute substantively to how Bridge can become a climate change agent and leader and inspire others, internally and externally, to follow.
Applicable experience ESPM and Measurabl (or equivalent ESG and carbon tracking tools)
Strong knowledge of global climate agreements, regulatory reporting, business and investor trends in climate, and scientific and technical advances.
Strong communicator with experience speaking with internal and external stakeholders on topics of sustainability and climate change.
Self-starter and proven experience working well independently as well as in collaborative team environments
