The Agency MBS Fund Manager is the new investment vertical at Bridge Investment Group that will manage mortgage backed securities portfolio. The team will lead all aspects of portfolio management including portfolio construction, trading, risk management, coordinating fund operations as well as supporting capital raising. The position will report to the Chief Investment Officer.

As Managing Director, Portfolio Management in our New York office you will be responsible for development and execution of hedging and funding strategy; play a critical role in portfolio construction, security selection and related analyses. You will also be responsible for maintaining key internal and external relationships. You will lead various activities including, but not limited to, coordination with middle and back office, risk management, treasury operations, fund accounting, investor services, and legal.

Expectations for the role:

  • Lead formation of interest rate hedging and funding strategy considering asset cash flows, macro-economic environment and market conditions.

  • Execute interest rate hedging using swaps, swaptions, futures and other derivative instruments.

  • Monitor mortgage market and undertake analyses to support investment decisions and security selection.

  • Monitor performance of assets, effectiveness of interest rate hedges and rebalance portfolio as needed.

  • Manage funding for the portfolio including monitoring rate risk, liquidity risk and counterparty risk.

  • Maintain and expand relationships with broker/dealers and other funding providers.

  • Coordinate with middle office, back office, fund accounting, tax, investor relations and other departments in support of fund business.

  • Engage in the marketing, fundraising effort, and investor calls as and when required.

  • Provide leadership and training to junior professionals as the team expands.

  • Strong understanding and experience in hedging and funding fixed income portfolio through business cycles required; experience in mortgage portfolio management a significant plus.

  • 10+ years of experience in execution of interest rate hedges in cash and derivatives market required.

  • Strong understanding of interest rates market and various derivatives instruments. Current involvement in LIBOR transition viewed favorably.

  • Advanced understanding of mortgage analytics as well as interest rate and prepayment models required.

  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and team building capabilities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong academic performance and achievement. Undergraduate degree required. Quantitative master’s degree preferred, but not necessary.

  • Experience and proven track record of managing and motivating junior team members.
