Venable LLP 1L LCLD Scholar Summer Associate (New York) in New York, New York

Venable is proud to be a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) and is excited to host 1L LCLD Scholars in our Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, and Tysons offices. The 1L LCLD Scholars Program offers students who will have completed their first year of law school the opportunity to spend a summer working side-by-side with Venable attorneys, as well as with our client partners.

Applicants of all races, ethnicities, genders, disabilities, orientations, and socio-economic or other backgrounds are eligible to apply for Venable's LCLD 1L Scholars Program. Our selection criteria for the Program include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrated record of academic achievement, as reflected in undergraduate and law school transcripts
  • Participation in various extracurricular activities highlighting leadership, dedication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting the Firm's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the community during college, law school or otherwise
  • Ability to bring a unique perspective to Venable based on applicant's personal experiences, including overcoming adversities, developing character through hardships, or other life experience that have shaped the applicant's identity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others and independently
  • Interest in practicing law at Venable after graduation
