Macquarie 2021 Macquarie Summer Associate Latin America Principal Energy Investments Inter in New York, New York
2021 Summer Associate Latin America Energy Principal Investments
As a 2021 Summer Associate in the Latin America Energy Principal Investments team, you will participate on a 10-week program to experience and execute energy investments in Latin America, directly from Macquarie's balance sheet, in greenfield and brownfield energy projects with equity tickets ranging from $5m to $500m. We provide a full range of solutions to projects and developers, including development and construction equity, restructuring capital, debt arranging as well as hybrid solutions. Our team is noted in the market as the leader sponsor in structuring high profile complex energy transactions.
Based in our New York office, you will be responsible for the execution of different work streams through the full life-cycle of a transaction: from initial analysis, development of presentation materials for investment/risk committees, development and oversight of financial models, execution of project due-diligence, participation in negotiation of documentation with external parties and execution of definite agreements. You will participate in a team to analyze and structure infrastructure and energy transactions, coordinating and executing multiple work streams with internal (legal, WHSE, risk, debt) as well as external parties (developers, off-takers, engineering, procurement and construction contracts contractors, equipment manufacturers, operation & maintenance providers, investors, lenders, developers and government stakeholders) and leading the execution of the transaction presentation materials to internal investment and risk committees.
Our Summer Associates come from diverse backgrounds including finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, and liberal arts, and have excelled in their roles. We are looking for candidates with 4-6 years of experience in the infrastructure and energy sector, having been involved in project financing, M&A or developments, preferably in Latin America. Fluency in English and Spanish is required for this role; Portuguese is an added plus but not necessary.
Ideally, this program targets candidates halfway through their master's degrees from global top schools (MBA, MSc, among others), expecting graduation by May, 2022. Once the program is over, based on your performance and accomplishments, you will be considered for a full-time Associate role in the Latin America Energy Principal Investments team, staring on July 2022. Our comprehensive training programs will ensure you have the skills and knowledge to succeed in our environment.
