Position Summary

TCW's Summer Intern Program allows students the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the asset management industry. While working at TCW they will connect and network with colleagues in various departments to develop, nurture and achieve their career goals. Along with the valuable learning experience the interns gain with their assigned groups, TCW also arranges a program of events designed to enhance interns' summer experience with us. Interns enjoy opportunities to meet directly with some of our senior executives, attend classes/lecture series led by key investment personnel at our firm, and participate in fun networking events. The summer intern program typically runs from mid-June through mid-August, a total of 8-10 weeks.
For Summer 2022, we are excited to announce internship opportunities in several business areas that include investment, investment support, technology, and corporate administrations. We hope the summer program will be fully onsite, but due to the uncertainty around COVID, we will make the determination a few months prior to the start of our summer program. Please note that interns could be asked to work from the TCW office where their position is located if we move to a fully onsite program.

Essential Duties

Interns will work under the guidance of senior members on the team they are assigned to work in. Based on the role and department, responsibilities may include day-to-day tasks and/or specific projects assigned by the department. Interns are expected to fulfill expectations set for them during the summer and attend scheduled events and activities as part of the summer program.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for the summer intern program must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time they participate in the internship, and be available to work full-time for the duration of the program (approximately 8 to 10 weeks). A strong interest to work in/gain exposure to the asset management industry is desired by most departments. Demonstrated academic achievement in their field of study is highly preferred.

Professional Skills Qualifications

In most of the intern roles, we look for candidates who demonstrate strong communication and organization skills. We also look for candidates who are excellent team players that work well with others to achieve the team objectives. Excellent detail-orientation and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment are also desired.
