PROGRAM DETAILS Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series!

Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $20/hour.

Eligible candidates:

• Current undergraduate students who will graduate on or before May 2024 or

• Current students in graduate degree programs and/or

• Workforce ready applicants

You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Marketing The Marketing department develops and implements creative marketing campaigns including advertising, social media, and bookstore displays. Marketers work closely with sales to learn what’s happening in the market and to help them promote and share their enthusiasm about books and writers.

Some responsibilities may include researching new media contacts, influencer, and brand partnerships for title marketing campaigns, collaborating with the team to create content for author and imprint social media platforms, and attending team meetings to help brainstorm promotional opportunities for titles

Publicity Publicity professionals generate exposure and “buzz” for new books and are the biggest advocates of the titles to the media. Publicists pitch newspapers, television, radio stations, websites and bloggers with the hope the press will review our titles and feature stories about forthcoming books and authors. Publicists also help create social media outreach, author tours, author signings, readings, and other events.

Some responsibilities may include researching media contacts, crafting pitches for publicity campaigns, tracking media coverage and mailing books to media contacts, and attending team meetings to help brainstorm new outlets or contacts to pitch our books.
